Heidelberg V & VI Series Radio - Anti-Theft System

Coding the Radio

  1. Turn on the radio

  2. Push and hold AM/FM Band Selector and Scan until the word Code appears on the display.

  3. Release the buttons and a 1000 will appear on the display and then vanish.

  4. Use the first four radio preset buttons to enter your code.
For technical reasons, the first number must be a one or a zero. Press each button X times (where X is the number you want (eg - the code 1234 would require pressing the first button once, the second button twice, etc.)).

  5. Push and hold AM/FM Band Selector and Scan until the word Safe appears on the display.

De-coding the Radio

  1. Turn on the radio.

  2. Push and hold AM/FM Band Selector and Scan until the word Safe appears on the display.

  3. Release the buttons and a 1000 will appear on the display and then vanish.

  4. Enter the required code (whatever you set it to).

  5. Push and hold AM/FM Band Selector and Scan until the word Code appears on the display.

  6. Release the buttons and the radio station frequency will be displayed.

If the word Safe appears in the display and then the radio station frequency appears, then the code was NOT entered correctly. You still have two more attempts (a total of three) before the radio locks up electronically.

Cancelling the Electronic Lock-Up

  1. Turn on the radio. The word Safe will be displayed.

  2. Push and hold AM/FM Band Selector and Scan until a 1000 appears on the display.

Do NOT, under any circumstances, continue holding down the buttons or press them once again. Doing so will cause the number 1000 to be taken as the code.

  3. Use the first four radio preset buttons to enter your code. (See Coding the Radio - Step 4)

  4. Push and hold AM/FM Band Selector and Scan until the word Safe appears on the display. The radio will now play again.

If an incorrect code number has been entered, the word Safe will appear on the display, first blinking, and then continuous. You may now repeat the cancellation procedure once (1) more. If, on the second attempt, the code is again entered incorrectly, the radio will be locked-up electronically for a period of one hour. The radio will NOT play. Leave the radio on and try again in an hour. This process cycles (two attempts, one hour lock-up, etc.).
